Trading in your old phone?
Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.
Step 2 Power on your new phone
Hold the power button until the Google screen appears, then release.

From the "Welcome to your Pixel" screen, select the appropriate language and tap Get Started.
4 Activate your Pixel 4 / 4 XLStep 4 Activate your Pixel 4 / 4 XL
From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Continue. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.
5 Enter your Verizon PINStep 5 Enter your Verizon PIN
If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.
6 Connect to Wi-FiStep 6 Connect to Wi-Fi
From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap See all Wi-Fi networks.
7 Transfer your stuffStep 7 Transfer your stuff
From the "Copy apps & data" screen, tap Next and follow the steps to transfer your content. If you'd like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later, tap Don't copy.
Step 8 Sign in to Google
Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.
Step 9 Set up Google services
Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.
10 Set up Verizon servicesStep 10 Set up Verizon services
Allow Verizon to collect information about the apps on your device. Review the info and tap the corresponding switch to turn it on. The switch is turned on when in the blue position. Tap I accept.
11 Agree to the Legal TermsStep 11 Agree to the Legal Terms
From the "Additional legal terms" screen, select I accept.
12 Protect your phoneStep 12 Protect your phone
Adding a screen lock to your phone allows you to create a PIN to unlock it. Enter a PIN and tap Next, then follow the steps or tap Skip.
13 Keep goingStep 13 Keep going
From the "Continue setup" screen, tap Continue to get your phone fully set up. To finish later, tap Leave & get reminder.
14 Hey GoogleStep 14 Hey Google
To access your Assistant directly by using your voice, tap I agree or tap Skip. If skipped, Voice Match can be turned on later.
15 Access your AssistantStep 15 Access your Assistant
To allow your Assistant to unlock your device, tap I agree or tap Skip. If skipped, you can choose to set up Assistant later.
16 Squeeze for your AssistantStep 16 Squeeze for your Assistant
You can access your Assistant any time by squeezing the bottom half of your phone. From the "Squeeze for your Assistant" screen, tap Next or tap Do it later.
17 Quick GesturesStep 17 Quick Gestures
From the the "Try Quick Gestures" screen, tap Turn on or Skip. If skipped, Quick Gestures can be turned on later.
18 Motion SenseStep 18 Motion Sense
From the the "Make your lock screen smarter" screen, tap Turn on or Skip. If skipped, Motion Sense can be turned on later.
19 Anything elseStep 19 Anything else
From the "Anything else" screen, tap the preferred option (music, font, etc.) to set up or tap No thanks.
