Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Hold the Power button until the Moto screen appears, then release.

From the "Hi there" screen, select the appropriate language and then tap Start.

4 Enter your Verizon PINStep 4 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

From the “Phone activation” screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.

6 Connect to Wi-FiStep 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn’t shown, tap See all Wi-Fi networks.

7 About your privacyStep 7 About your privacy

From the "About your Privacy" screen, verify your settings. Tap Accept and continue to use your current settings, or change your privacy settings.

8 Transfer your stuffStep 8 Transfer your stuff

Tap Next and follow the steps to transfer your content. If you’d like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later, tap Don’t copy.

9 Sign in to GoogleStep 9 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

10 Set up Google servicesStep 10 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

11 Protect your phoneStep 11 Protect your phone

Adding a screen lock to your phone allows you to create a PIN to unlock it. Enter the lock code, then tap Next or tap Skip.

12 Continue setupStep 12 Continue setup

To continue setting up, tap Continue. If you'd like to be reminded to setup later, tap Leave & get reminder.

13 Google AssistantStep 13 Google Assistant

Tap Turn on to customize your Google Assistant experience or tap No thanks to skip.

From the "Check out what's trending" screen, read the information and then tap Next.

15 Google Voice MatchStep 15 Google Voice Match

Tap I agree to set up Voice Match or tap Skip to continue with the Setup Wizard.

Review the additional settings by tapping the appropriate option or skip by tapping No thanks.

17 Verizon ServicesStep 17 Verizon Services

From the "Verizon Services" screen, verify your settings, Location and Apps info, then tap Accept.

18 Set up Verizon CloudStep 18 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Agree or Skip the step.

19 Add Digital SecureStep 19 Add Digital Secure

Verizon Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

20 Let's stay in touchStep 20 Let's stay in touch

From the "Let's stay in touch" screen, tap any switches to turn on or off, then tap Next.

21 You're all doneStep 21 You're all done

From the "Ready to go" screen, tap Got it to complete the setup.
