Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Hold the Power button until the Moto screen appears, then release.

3 Enter your Verizon PINStep 3 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

From the "Hi there" screen, select the appropriate language and then tap Start.

From the “Phone activation” screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn’t shown, tap See all Wi-Fi networks.

From the "Privacy & software updates" screen, verify your settings. Tap Accept & continue to use your current settings, or change your privacy settings.

8 Transfer your stuffStep 8 Transfer your stuff

Tap Next and follow the steps to transfer your content. If you’d like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later, tap Don’t copy.

9 Sign in to GoogleStep 9 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

10 Set up Google servicesStep 10 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

11 Protect your phoneStep 11 Protect your phone

Adding a screen lock to your phone allows you to create a PIN to unlock it. Enter the lock code, then tap Next or tap Skip.

12 Keep goingStep 12 Keep going

From the "Continue setup" screen, tap Continue to fully set up your phone. To finish later, tap Leave & get reminder.

From the "Activate Voice Match for Hey Google" screen, tap I agree to set up Voice Match or Skip the step.

14 Google Voice MatchStep 14 Google Voice Match

Review the information, then tap I agree to teach the Assistant to recognize your voice, or Skip the step.

15 Additional AppsStep 15 Additional Apps

Tap additional settings to set up or tap No thanks to continue.

16 Verizon ServicesStep 16 Verizon Services

From the "Verizon Services" screen, verify your settings, Location and Apps info, then tap Accept.

17 Set up Verizon CloudStep 17 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

18 Add Digital SecureStep 18 Add Digital Secure

Verizon Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

19 Exclusive AccessStep 19 Exclusive Access

From the "Let's stay in touch" screen, verify your settings then tap Next to use your current settings. Or give permission to Motorola to send notifications of software updates.

20 You're all doneStep 20 You're all done

From the "Ready to go" screen, tap Got it to complete the setup.
