Trading in your old phone?
Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.
1 Power on your new phoneStep 1 Power on your new phone
Hold the Power button until the Motorola logo appears, then release and wait for the "Hi there" screen to appear.

From the “Hi there” screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Allow a few minutes for activation to complete. If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.
4 Connect to Wi-FiStep 4 Connect to Wi-Fi
From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap See all Wi-Fi networks.

From the "Privacy & software updates" screen, scroll down to review additional info on screen. Next tap any of the switches to turn on or off. If desired, enter your email address to receive emails from Motorola, then tap Accept & continue.

If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap Next. If you'd like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later, tap Don't copy.
7 Sign in to GoogleStep 7 Sign in to Google
Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.
8 Set up Google ServicesStep 8 Set up Google Services
Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.
9 Protect your phoneStep 9 Protect your phone
From the "Set screen lock" screen, enter a lock code then tap Next. Tap Screen lock options if you want to set up a different lock method or tap Skip.
10 Continue set upStep 10 Continue set up
To continue setting up, tap Continue. If you'd like to be reminded to set up later, tap Leave & get reminder.

Review the screen, then tap Next.
12 Google Voice MatchStep 12 Google Voice Match
Tap I agree to set up Voice Match, or tap Skip to continue with the Setup Wizard.

Review the additional settings by tapping the appropriate option or skip by tapping No thanks.
14 Set up Verizon ServicesStep 14 Set up Verizon Services
From the "Verizon Services" screen, review the Terms & Conditions. Tap Accept to use your location and app info settings.
15 Set up Verizon CloudStep 15 Set up Verizon Cloud
Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Agree or Skip the step.
16 Set up Digital SecureStep 16 Set up Digital Secure
Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.
17 Permissions PolicyStep 17 Permissions Policy
From the "Let's stay in touch" screen, scroll down to review additional info on screen, then tap any of the switches to turn on or off. If desired, enter your email address to receive emails from Motorola, then tap Next.
18 You're all doneStep 18 You're all done
From the "Ready to go!" screen, tap Got it to complete setup.
