Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Step 2 Power on your new phone

Hold the power button until the Moto screen appears, then release.

3 Enter your Verizon PINStep 3 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

From the "Hi there" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

5 Activate your new moto g7 playStep 5 Activate your new moto g7 play

From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.

Step 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap See all Wi-Fi networks.

7 Transfer your stuffStep 7 Transfer your stuff

Tap Next and follow the steps to transfer your content. If you'd like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later with the Verizon Content Transfer app, tap Don't Copy.

Step 8 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

Step 9 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

10 Secure your phoneStep 10 Secure your phone

Adding a fingerprint scan to your phone allows you to touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock it, sign into apps or make purchases. Tap Set Up, then follow the steps or tap Skip. If a fingerprint is added, a back up lock code will be required to complete set up.

Review the additional settings by tapping the appropriate option or skip by tapping No Thanks.

12 Set up Verizon ServicesStep 12 Set up Verizon Services

From the "Verizon Services" screen, verify your settings Location info and Apps info. Tap Accept to use your location and app info settings.

13 Set up Verizon CloudStep 13 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Next or Skip the step.

14 Add Verizon Security & PrivacyStep 14 Add Verizon Security & Privacy

Verizon Security & Privacy protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Verizon Security by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

15 About your privacyStep 15 About your privacy

From the "About your privacy" screen, verify your settings. Tap Accept and Continue to use your current settings or change your privacy settings.

16 You're all doneStep 16 You're all done

From the "Ready to go!" screen, tap Got it to complete setup.
