Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Hold the power button until the Samsung screen appears, then release.

From the "Welcome" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

From the "For your review" screen, review the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Select Agree to all (or tap them separately), then tap Agree.

From the "Permissions for Samsung apps and services" screen, tap the switch to turn nearby devices scanning on or off, then tap Agree.

6 Enter your Verizon PINStep 6 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

Ensure the correct mobile number is listed, then tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.

8 Connect to Wi-FiStep 8 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Set up Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn’t shown, tap Refresh list.

Tap Next to copy your data and follow the steps to transfer your content. If you'd like to transfer your stuff later, tap Don't copy.

10 Sign in to GoogleStep 10 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or tap Next to create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

Review Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy documents, then tap I agree to continue setting up your phone.

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

13 Protect your phoneStep 13 Protect your phone

Add a PIN, pattern, password, face recognition, or fingerprints or choose Skip to bypass locking your screen.

14 Access your Assistant with Hey GoogleStep 14 Access your Assistant with Hey Google

From the "Access your Assistant with Hey Google" screen, tap I agree to set up Google Assistant or tap Skip the step.

15 Access your Assistant without unlocking your phoneStep 15 Access your Assistant without unlocking your phone

From the "Access your Assistant without unlocking your phone" screen, tap I agree to allow Assistant on the lock screen or Skip the step.

16 Verizon servicesStep 16 Verizon services

Verizon Services help to improve your experience and optimize your service. Select Location and App info, then tap Accept.

17 Verizon CloudStep 17 Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

18 Digital SecureStep 18 Digital Secure

Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

19 Samsung accountStep 19 Samsung account

From the "Samsung account" screen, sign in to your existing account, create a new one or Skip the step.

20 You're all doneStep 20 You're all done

Tap Open My Verizon to set up the My Verizon app or tap Done to exit the Setup Wizard.
