Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Hold the power button until the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G UW screen appears, then release.

3 Enter your Verizon PINStep 3 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

4 WelcomeStep 4 Welcome

From the "Welcome" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

5 Agree to the Terms and ConditionsStep 5 Agree to the Terms and Conditions

From the "For your review" screen, review the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and diagnostic data details. Check each to agree or select Agree to all, then tap Agree.

6 Samsung apps & servicesStep 6 Samsung apps & services

From the "Permissions for Samsung apps and services" screen, review the permissions requested for each service and then tap the corresponding switch to turn on or off. If necessary, scroll down to view all services requested, then tap Agree to continue.

From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for the activation to complete.

From the "Set up Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap Refresh List.

9 Bring your old dataStep 9 Bring your old data

From the "Copy apps & data" screen, tap Next to transfer apps, photos, contacts, and more from your old device. Tap Don’t copy to skip this step.

10 Sign in to GoogleStep 10 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

11 Set up Google servicesStep 11 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

12 Protect your phoneStep 12 Protect your phone

Add a PIN, pattern, password, face recognition, or fingerprints or choose Skip to bypass locking your screen.

13 Set up Verizon servicesStep 13 Set up Verizon services

Verizon Services help to improve your experience and optimize your service. Select Location and Apps info, then tap Accept.

14 Set up Verizon CloudStep 14 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

15 Digital SecureStep 15 Digital Secure

Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

16 Samsung accountStep 16 Samsung account

From the "Samsung account" screen, sign in to your existing account, create a new Samsung account, or Skip the step.

17 You're all doneStep 17 You're all done

From the "Setup Wizard is complete" screen, tap Done to complete setup.
