Verizon Family smartwatch connectivity FAQs

You can add smartwatches to your Verizon Family guardian, member or dependent accounts for location services. Verizon Family users who connect their smartwatches can be seen in the Verizon Family app.

With your smartwatch connected to the Verizon Family app:

• You can locate your guardian, member or dependent using the Verizon network
• See your guardian, member or dependent's location on the Verizon Family map screen

If you have a standard monthly mobile account, you can add a compatible smartwatch to your Verizon Family app. You can connect a smartwatch to the Verizon Family free app or Verizon Family Plus ($14.99/month).

The Verizon Family watch Companion app must be installed on your smartwatch to connect with the Verizon Family app. Once the Companion app is installed, your smartwatch should automatically be identified in the Verizon Family app.

• Apple Watch users - The watch Companion app should automatically download to your smartwatch.
• Samsung and Google users - You need to download the Companion app through Google Play™ Store on your watch.

We'll notify you with a push notification or in the Verizon Family app to continue adding your smartwatch to your profile.

Yes, the Companion app must be installed on your guardian, member or dependent's smartwatch to locate them. Members and dependents can only see the guardian's location if they share it.

Keep in mind: Members and dependents won't know you're locating them.

No, your guardian, member or dependent's parental control settings won't automatically be the same on their smartwatch. These controls include:

• Screen time
• Content monitoring
• Social media and web activity restrictions

Check your smartwatch settings to use parental controls.

You can view your guardian, member or dependent's location history for the preceding 7 days in the Verizon Family app. Members and dependents can only see the guardian’s location if they share it.

Safe Walk and 24/7 Assist are not available on smartwatches at this time.

If you've denied location or notification permissions on your smartwatch before, you'll need to re-enable them. This applies to both Android and Apple devices.

To re-enable:

• Check your location and notification settings on your mobile device to ensure they are enabled.
• In your smartwatch's settings, enable location and notification permissions.
