Piece of garbage

Way overpriced, a total waste of money. Can’t use it for business which is what I needed it for. Isn’t compatible with well…. All sorts of programs. BSOD at 6 months….. wish I could take it in and dump it on someone’s desk or shove it where it truly belongs
Toaster of a Laptop Needs a new hampster
Daed · 1 month ago
Supposed to be a great business laptop but connectivity is spotty, the arm type processor isn't great for anything but saving battery power (no systems are compatible for high cpu usage), and compared to other 5g laptop options this thing is way over priced at $1500. Lenovo has also no discontinued making these things.
Will not run all normal windows applications. Died after 8 months sitting on a desk.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great laptop for browsing the web playing videos and being online pretty much anywhere... Until it breaks. 8 months in the cellular card failed. I was unable to enable the device. After multiple resets/windows re-installs firmware checks driver upgrades etc. the issue remained. I sent it in for repair and have been waiting over a month now for it's return. Not great if you use it for work.

I was honestly super worried to get this laptop just mostly because of the reviews on here. Although I will say I strongly believe now that I’ve used it for a month that it’s a amazing laptop. I use it for work, school, and just everyday things and it performce so smooth! I 100% feel like people didn’t know how to work it..
Very Slow
kim62 · 2 months ago
I have this computer, wished I hadn't purchased it through Verizon. It is the slowest, I've ever used. When I worked for a non-profit we used hand me down computers that were faster than this thing. DON'T waste your money. A chromebook is better than the Lenovo Flex 5G.

Wonderful machine but do your research, it isnt for everyone...

Yes, I'd recommend this product.
This is a phenomenal machine that has proven extremely durable and reliable given my use. I do contract software development and I travel a lot, generally via motorcycle unless its cold or icy lol- and I never go anywhere without this machine. I have carried this machine for thousands of miles over the past year with numerous stops and working wherever I may be when needed. I am far from a gentle user, though I do use a well padded carrying case and have nad no issues at all. I don't ever carry the charger as I can get a full day use on a full charge no problem, and can work literally anywhere and never have 5g connection issues. Its a great solid machine if it will work for you. The biggest issue people will have is the arm64 architechure. This is a relatively new archicheture for daily windows computing and there are things that just will not work. But if you know what those limitations are and that they wont be a roadblock for your experience, then you will love this machine.

Can you use this computer as a gaming computer for a beginner
Dokes - 1 year
I would say no way for the cash you would be spending. It can do somethings but if its for games and you dont have a primary pc to push them its not even worth it. I dont really think its worth it with that NOT for gaming.
Linnea - 1 year
Absolutely not. I would not recommend it at this price point it is a glorified tablet that freezes up running basic apps because it is running a modified windows 10 called the windows 10RT that forces the applications to run in like a containerized state. My simple Microsoft Word documents cause the application to fail while simply doing homework. Great for surfing the net but not much else sadly.

Can you add/increase RAM? What is max?
Linnea - 1 year
There does not seem to be any way to open it that would allow this and everything I have seen says no it cannot be upgraded which is a shame because it struggles a lot.
Verizon Customer Support - 1 year
The Lenovo Flex 5G has 8 Gigabyte of onboard RAM.
EMeans・Nov 6, 2020
Does it have HDMI port
Linnea - 1 year
It does not have an HDMI port but they have a really good mini hub dock at BestBuy that will get you from the USB-C to 2 HDMI, an RJ-45, and 2 standard USB ports. The device only has 2 USB-ports (one is for power!!) and a speaker/min port so you’d want to use the remaining port wisely. The dock allows power to go through it to the PC to give you back one of your USB-C ports.

if the ram is soldered onto the ssd, and i wanted to upgrade the ram, could I get around this by completely replacing the sdd? If so how hard would this be?
sahasrhalaatgmail - 1 year
its farely easy bud, take off old ram put on bigger resolder, but you shouldnt have to solder it should slide out like the dual/single card on an sli link, the hard drive has nothing to do with the ram in that respect

Can you play games on this laptop? is it strong enough to play games online?
Hello - 1 year
Yes
Verizon Customer Support - 1 year
Yes, especially when the device is connected to our 5G Ultra Wideband network, or a good Wi-Fi connection. Both the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor and Qualcomm Adreno 680 Graphics Processor work well for gaming, on the Lenovo Flex 5G.

Is the Lenovo FLex 5G truly a laptop or a chromebook ?
Linnea - 1 year
I didn’t like the answer they gave. Though it is “supposed” to be like a laptop it cannot run the real Windows 10 despite what it touts! It is Windows 10RT which means a TON of incompatibility issues. Adobe doesn’t work properly, the anti-virus I wanted to use is all confused, applications run in a container like structure and crash constantly. I got it for my homework but Word crashes at least 2-3 times while mid sentence. The lack of ability to get it in an available storage above 256GB says to me this is just a glorified tablet more like a Chromebook than a real laptop. I’d never be able to run a VM on here for any of my research as this solely serves me as a temp solution until I can afford the one I need which is sadly still a lot more than this one.
