After two replacements of the DuraSport 5G I bought to replace my DuraForce Pro2, I finally gave up and went back to full time use of my Pro2 and put the constantly failing DuraSport 5G in my desk drawer until I complete my discounted payments with Verizon and can get a decent deal on upgrading to the DuraForce Pro3. On top of the OS dropping apps and calls, I didn't like how hard it was to simply handle the phone. Too thin and too slick.

I hate this phone! Had duraforce pro's before this one and loved them. No complaints. This one I have nothing good to say about. Pretty much does what it wants. Closes apps, and I have to keep opening them over and over again. It always turns off the volume. Keyboard disappears.screen freezes. Camera sucks. Keep getting no Internet connection messages. In every one of these reviews they always say to call customer support. I did that. They said that I have to go to Verizon. Wonderful customer support to add to the list. I've always had kyrocera phones for the last 20 yrs. Guess it's time for a change.

Had a Duraforce 2 for 3 years loved replaced with sport... I could not be more disappointed, camera lens cracked within a month, screen spider webbed first drop... Than the keyboard wouldn't pop up so I kept tap tapping and further spider webbed... Only after months did they fix the frustrating glitch... Would love a Duraforce 3 but I'm not sure after this clunker. This phone and "rugged" as described on Kyocera site should not be in the same sentence

WORST PHONE EVER

Okay this is my 3rd Kyocera. I had the original and the pro 2 and had some luck with them. I thought this phone would be as durable, but no I broke the screen on my first one after having it for a little less than a year. It fell from my coat pocket about waist height, I'm 5'6", and shattered the screen. Luckily I always have insurance. 2ndly never get this phone wet the speaker will never be the same. As far as the actual phone goes it's terrible at first it was randomly disconnecting my service and you'd have to restart it. Then, they updated it and it would randomly kick you out of apps. They updated again started doing both random disconnections and getting closing apps. It also started randomly closing the keyboard at this time. They updated once more since then and it hasn't gotten any better. I've been randomly disconnected a few times and had to turn my service on and off again to reconnect it, the keyboard randomly drops in the middle of typing and did it again during this review. Lastly you can only run one app at a time and forget playing any kind of game on it. Games make it heat up badly,if you try to listen to Spotify while using maps it'll close one or the other and sometimes both out. I've been able to somewhat bypass this issue by making my Google maps small on my phone while in Spotify, but even then it'll randomly kick you out. Now, the last thing is it will randomly open you camera in you pocket even if it's locked. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!

I've had to replace seven of these phones and the last two years I sent over $700 in totals on replacements because a asurion keeps sending me the same phone The first 4 phones that I had the issue with their screens propped off and asurion said it was physical damage and I had to replace them and pay for it The the fifth one I accidentally dropped off of my bed and it shattered on my floor which is tile The sixth one that I had Kyocera released update 12 and it killed my phone and so after that the power button stopped working and then it died two days after the power button after I called Verizon to get me a new phone which never came end up paying for a new one So here I am on number seven I think I would have preferred they had the duraforce 2 or the original duraforce way more sturdy Mind you guys I broke these phones with a case on it So honestly I think I'm going to go to a different model the next time I buy a phone when it breaks

I purchased my first Durasport about 2 years ago. For the money, it was acceptable. The camera is not very sharp and the battery life is poor. It is definitely a "sport" version of Kyocera's previous contractor or military grade offerings. It was fine until I received the upgrade to Android 10, then things went south. Right after the upgrade, the keyboard would regularly not come up. When it did, it would disappear incessantly. The device started suddenly "going in reverse" online and dumping the webpage I was on and going one, two or even three pages back. Worst was that I would regularly not get text messages for hours or days at a time. Then, without provocation or planning, they would all come in at once. After much toiling online for fixes, it finally took it to a Verizon store to get the experts opinion. They took one look at it and promptly offered to send me a replacement because they said it was an issue with the phone. Thankfully, I had the extended warranty on my account. What arrived was a factory refurbished device that indeed looked new. And it worked great. For exactly one month. Then the same issues with the first device began to crop up with the second ('refurbished') device. I took it back to the same store and they sent me a third factory rebuilt replacement device, which arrived today. Right off the bat, when I tried to transfer my accounts from the second defective device to the third, I began to get error messages saying that the cable was not plugged in when clearly it was. Upon closer inspection, it was apparent that the cable was very loose in the USB port in the new (old, 'refurbished') device. Indeed, I could wiggle the USB cable about in the port like stripped out screw in a wallowed out hole and watch the (new/old/'refurbished') phone freak out telling me that the cable was not plugged in/plugged in/not plugged in/plugged in and so on. In closing, I must say that I do not recommend the Kyocera Durasport device. What it offers in ruggedness, it loses in quality and reliability. If you insist upon getting one, I highly recommend getting the highest level of extended warranty with it. And so it is that I shall be returning the (new/old/defective/'refurbished') replacement device (for the replacement device) back to Verizon tomorrow. After which, I shall go back to the same Verizon store and avail myself of the current promotion and trade in my original (second/new/old/defective/'refurbished') Durasport for a Samsung S24 and an OtterBox case. With any luck, you will never hear from me again.

The DuraSport 5G software update 3.043VZ, released on March 6, 2024, caused some devices to experience instability and unexpected behavior. Software update 3.100VZ corrected or improved the behavior for most of those devices. If customers are still experiencing these issues, we encourage them to contact our customer support team at 1-800-349-4478, or online at kyoceramobile.com/contactus/support, to request support. Regarding the problem you observed with the USB port on the remanufactured replacement device, that would most likely be covered by our Standard 2-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty. I got this while on a trip to replace my old Kyocera which was lost or stolen, otherwise I would have returned it. I liked my old Kyocera but this one is not good in so many ways. It needs to be recalled.

No, DuraSport only supports one SIM card, but the DuraForce PRO 3 supports dual SIM cards - one physical and one eSIM.

Can this model run Android 13?

You can expand the DuraSport memory by purchasing and inserting a compatible microSD card into the phone. If you are planning to store video on the card, make sure to get one that has fast enough read and write speeds to support that function.
