Happy Friday, V Team! On today’s edition of Up To Speed live, host Raquel Wilson shared a full news rundown.

Up To Speed: Week in review

Keep spreading the good news

Earlier this week we announced the big news of our new Welcome Unlimited Plan: it’s our best unlimited price ever with unlimited talk, text, and data on Verizon’s 5G Nationwide network.

The news is spreading and it’s getting the attention of tech publications like CNET, The Verge and Digital Trends.

The plan starts at just $30 per line per month for four lines with Auto Pay, plus taxes and fees. And to sweeten the deal we’ll give you up to 240 dollars for every device you bring to Verizon on the Welcome Unlimited plan. If you have a family of four that’s $960 bucks! If you’re a teacher, nurse, first responder, military or veteran, you’ll save even more with our “Those who Serve” discount.

And V Team, don’t forget to tell your friends and family the good news! They can switch to Verizon at an even better price with your Friends & Family discount when they switch online.

We took a moment to recognize Jeff H., a customer who recently switched to Verizon after realizing how much he relied on his personal hotspot while traveling for work. With hotspot speeds maxing out at 1mbps with Xfinity mobile, Jeff decided to check out Verizon where he could enjoy 10mbps, making switching a no-brainer.

Our 5G expansion continues

More than one million more customers in Atlanta, GA now have access to higher speeds and greater capacity from Verizon’s award-winning 5G Ultra Wideband network.

These additional customers in Atlanta have access to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband service 18 months earlier than projected due to agreements with satellite providers to clear C-Band spectrum, a premium spectrum Verizon recently purchased at auction, which was originally scheduled to be cleared in December 2023.

Atlanta was recently awarded the best overall network in Atlanta by one of the leading testing agencies.

The people have spoken

In the latest J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Wireless Network Quality Performance Study, Volume 2, released on Thursday, Verizon was the most awarded brand for Wireless Network Quality for the 29th consecutive time.

The J.D. Power findings include responses from more than 34,174 wireless customers who participated in a national survey conducted between January and June 2022. This means

our customers continue to recognize the performance and value Verizon offers.

AdWeek Women Trailblazers

And speaking of awards, congratulations are in store for our Chief Human Resource Officer, Sam Hammock, who was recently named one of Adweek’s Women Trailblazers. This year, Adweek recognized Women in media, tech, and advertising who are using their voices and unique positions to drive equality. Sam was recognized for striving to empower with Work Forward, Women’s CoLab, and Verizon’s Thrive apprenticeship program.

National Give Something Away Day

Today is National Give Something Away Day which means it’s the perfect time to share our abundance with others, express gratitude for all that we have and it can all start with something as simple as cleaning out our closets.

With our volunteer partner, Sole4Souls you can give away gently worn shoes without holes regardless of size or style. Every pair of shoes you donate keeps 1.25 pounds of textiles out of landfills and provides food, shelter, and education for an entire family, each day.

You can register for the event on our Citizen Verizon Volunteers portal, by clicking here.

Corporate Classic 5K

We closed the show by giving a big shout out to the 1,200 V Teamers and their families who raced across the finish line at our annual Verizon Corporate Classic last night.

The 5K run-walk held in Morristown, N.J., raised $10,000 for JBWS, a nonprofit organization providing safety, support and solutions for abuse. We aired a video shot by Communications manager Andy Choi who shared some highlights from the race.

Have a great weekend, V Team!
