Happy Employee Appreciation Day!
Today is a special day when we show our gratitude to the V Team. And, we’re not the only ones giving thanks. Here are some notes of appreciation we received from customers who received exceptional service from our employees..
David Jones, Cable Splicing Technician, Rockville, MD: “David was the best technician I have ever had. He explained everything to me. I am not very tech savvy and he made sure TVs and Alexa were working with new password. I think you should get a raise, a promotion. He was the best.”
Kwashella Morrison, Facilities Technician, Englewood, NJ: “Kwashella was awesome. She solved problems quickly and with a positive attitude. Best technician I've worked with and I've moved six times in ten years.”
Trevor Farmer, Tech Expert: A customer Jayne posted a tweet about her amazing experience, noting that she couldn’t have been more impressed with Trevor.
Kudos and thanks to David, Kwashella and Trevor!
Your Voice Matters
As many of you know, Your Voice Matters is a feedback program that compiles employee insights to improve the overall customer experience. Wave nine just started with 184 new participants spanning Retail, Indirect, Telesales and Customer Service. Some of the program’s most recent wins include our work with the Go To Market team on the design and launch of Discover Daily. Great work, everyone!
NFL Ultra Toss
Did you know that attendees at last month’s Super Bowl LV got to enjoy the first 5G- and mobile edge computing (MEC)-enabled mobile game in-stadium this year? Verizon teamed up with the NFL and AWS to debut ‘NFL Ultra Toss’ for fans with the NFL Ticketholder app. They received a push notification during the second quarter and were able to compete by using their smartphone to toss a football into the back of a pickup truck positioned in the middle of the field, all virtually. Gameplay was offloaded to the edge of Verizon’s 5G network, reducing latency and allowing for a massive multiplayer experience.
Getting to know Wendy Taccetta
Congratulations to a V Teamer of 20 years who just started her new role in December as Channel Chief and is already making news as one of CRN’s top Channel Chiefs of 2021. Wendy Taccetta recently sat down to talk about her new role, the emphasis on making it easy for our customers to do business with us and how she creates joy. Check out the full interview.
Bringing back Twitter
If you’ve missed interacting with Up To Speed while watching live, we have good news. Next Thursday, we’ll be returning to Twitter at 12 PM ET for an Up To Speed Live with Hans and Kyle. V Teamers watching Up To Speed Live can once again share live comments and send bubbly hearts to their heart’s content.
Marketing Unfiltered podcast
Diana hosted the premiere episode of the Marketing Unfiltered podcast with Diego Scotti and Twitter’s CMO and Head of People Leslie Berland. They discussed controversial moments and how the pandemic changed everything.
#ChooseToChallenge
Did you see the letter that Tami, Christy and Rima wrote as we head in to International Women’s Day on Monday? It’s all about how we can choose to challenge the status quo when it comes to women, especially when so many of them are suffering from pandemic-related job losses and related struggles. Tami, Christy and Rima are calling on us to do our part. And sending a special message: “To all our V Team women out there — we see you. You are valued. You are enough. You are incredible. And we will move #ForwardTogether.”
On International Women’s Day Monday, Diana will be back to celebrate at 12 PM ET/9 AM PT.
