Trading in your old phone?

Turn off 'Find my iPhone' on your old phone before getting started.

Welcome to your new Apple iPhone SE (2020). To turn it on, hold the Power button (top right side) until the Apple logo appears and then release.

From the "Hello" screen, press the Home button to begin setup.

Choose your language and your location (country or region).

If your old iPhone is running iOS 11 or later, bring your old phone near your new one now, and you will be signed in automatically, saving time!
Not sure of the OS version? No problem. Just tap Set Up Manually to continue.


6 Connect to Wi-FiStep 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

Tap the desired Wi-Fi network. Enter the password and tap Join.


7 Activate your new iPhoneStep 7 Activate your new iPhone

If prompted, please enter your Verizon PIN. If activation does not work the first time, press Try Again. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.


8 Data & PrivacyStep 8 Data & Privacy

Apple only collects personal information when needed to enable features, secure their services, or personalize your experience. Tap Continue.


9 Set up Touch IDStep 9 Set up Touch ID

With this feature, you can use your fingerprint to unlock your phone and make purchases. Tap Continue and follow the instructions, or tap Set Up Touch ID Later.


10 Create a passcodeStep 10 Create a passcode

Set a six-digit passcode to help protect your data. You need a passcode to use features like Apple Pay. If you'd like a four-digit passcode, custom passcode, or no passcode, tap Passcode Options.


11 Restore your phoneStep 11 Restore Your Phone

Select your backup option. Did not complete a backup or want to transfer content later? Select Don't Transfer Apps & Data.

12 Sign in to your Apple accountStep 12 Sign in to your Apple account

Enter your Apple ID and password. This account is used to download new apps to be used on your phone and access any other features like iCloud.
Unsure what your Apple ID is or need to create one? Follow the links on your screen.


13 Review Apple's Terms and ConditionsStep 13 Review Apple's Terms and Conditions

When you enter your Apple ID, you will be shown the terms and conditions for review. Go through them and when ready, tap Agree.


14 Express SettingsStep 14 Express Settings

To set up your phone with the recommended settings, tap Continue. If you want to customize any of those choices, tap Customize Settings.


15 Keep your iPhone up to dateStep 15 Keep your iPhone up to date

To get the latest features, security, and improvements by updating iOS automatically, tap Continue. If not, tap Install Updates Manually.


16 Apple PayStep 16 Apple Pay

Add cards to Apple Pay to send money to friends and make secure purchases in stores, in apps, and on the web. To set up Apple Pay, tap Continue. If not, tap Set Up Later in Wallet.


17 SiriStep 17 Siri

Siri lets you use your voice to complete various actions on your device and easily search the web. Tap Continue to set up now or you can set it up later. If you want to set up now, you will be asked to say a few phrases to help with voice recognition.


18 Screen TimeStep 18 Screen Time

To receive weekly reports about your screen time and set time limits for apps you want to manage, tap Continue or Set Up Later in Settings.


19 App AnalyticsStep 19 App Analytics

Tap About App Analytics & Privacy to learn more. If you want to enroll, tap Share with App Developers and if not, tap Don't Share.


20 True Tone DisplayStep 20 True Tone Display

Adjust the color and intensity of your display to make images appear more natural. Tap Continue.


21 AppearanceStep 21 Appearance

Select a light or dark appearance for the iPhone, then tap Continue.


22 Home Button HapticStep 22 Home Button Haptic

Choose how the Home button feels when you press it, then tap Continue (upper-right).


23 Display ZoomStep 23 Display Zoom

Choose how you would like to view your iPhone, then tap Continue.

You're done! Tap Get Started to begin using your new phone.
