Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Step 2 Power on your new phone

Hold the power button until the LG V40 ThinQ screen appears, then release.

Step 3 Enter your Verizon PIN

If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

Step 4 Welcome

From the "Setup Wizard" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Next.

Step 5 Activate your new LG V40 ThinQ

From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for activation to complete.

6 Connect to Wi-FiStep 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Set up Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap Refresh List.

7 Transfer your stuffStep 7 Transfer your stuff

From the "Copy apps & data" screen, tap Next to continue. If you’d like a fresh start or would like to transfer your stuff later with the Verizon Content Transfer app, tap Don't copy.

8 Use your old deviceStep 8 Use your old device

Ensure you have your old Android, iPhone® or iPad® device. Tap the device option, then follow the on-screen instructions. If you don't have access to your old device, tap Don't copy to skip the step.

9 Sign in to GoogleStep 9 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

10 Set up Google servicesStep 10 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

11 Protect your phoneStep 11 Protect your phone

Adding a screen lock option to your phone allows you to secure the data on your device. Choose an option, then tap Next to follow the steps, or tap No, thanks to skip the step.

12 Google AssistantStep 12 Google Assistant

Google Assistant lets you use your voice to complete various actions on your phone and search the web. Tap Next to continue to the next screen where you can choose to set it up now or later.

Step 13 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Next or Skip the step.

14 Add Digital SecureStep 14 Add Digital Secure

Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Digital Secure by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

Step 15 You're all done

From the "Ready to go!" screen, tap Got It to complete setup.
