VPNFilter Malware threat information - June 1, 2018
Verizon is committed to customer security. Our security team is aware of the recently reported malware commonly known as “VPNFilter”and continues to assess the threat, if any, to the various routers we provide. To be safe, we recommend Verizon customers follow the guidance of the FBI and reboot their home router.
For customers using routers provided by Verizon, simply turn off or unplug the home router, wait one minute, then turn it back on.
If you are using your own router please refer to the device manufacturer for proper rebooting instructions.

The VPNFilter malware is a modular platform with versatile capabilities; among other capabilities, it has the ability to harvest account credentials and other sensitive data, redirect users to malicious sites, and leverage routers as part of destructive cyber-attack operations.
