Local & National Directory Assistance can also be used for more advanced searches. Using the service you can:

To Search by type of business, dial 411, when prompted say:

• city and state > category search > type of business

To Search by address dial 411, when prompted say:

• city and state > “address” > a live operator will complete your request

Complete a reverse number search to get the listed name associated with a specific telephone number, dial 411, when prompted say:

• “reverse number search” > a live operator will complete your request

To do an area code search, dial 411, when prompted say:

• “area code” > a live operator will complete your request

Obtain a country code to dial a call to another country, dial 411, when prompted say:

• city and state > say “country code” > a live operator will complete your request

Local telephone numbers obtained from Verizon’s Directory Assistance can be automatically dialed.

For an additional charge, you can usually press 1 any time after the requested number has been announced to automatically dial the number.

Depending on your state, you may be eligible to receive a certain number of local directory assistance calls each month at no charge (“call allowances”). Individuals with physical or visual disabilities and seniors may also be eligible for call allowances, depending on the state. Call allowances not used within one billing period cannot be transferred to an additional billing period or to another account.

Directory Assistance Call Completion charges are as follows:

• If the number is not answered or busy, you will only be billed for the directory assistance request
• If the call is answered, you be charged for the call completion service and the directory assistance request

Local Directory Assistance, National Directory Assistance and Call Completion charges vary by location.

• Local Directory Assistance refers to a call placed to 411
• National Directory Assistance refers to a long distance directory assistance call placed to 1-AREA CODE-555-1212, where the area code dialed is not within your local calling area
• Directory Assistance charges may appear on your bill when:
  • Calling local 411 and/or national directory assistance (1.area code.555.1212)
  • The cost of the call may include a local usage charge and the call completion surcharge
