Verizon Roadside Assistance coverage becomes effective 48 hours after the service is added to your line. Roadside Assistance provides service through third party service providers in common emergency situations for eligible vehicles with a limit of 4 service claims within 1 year of enrollment date. The Verizon Wireless phone must be physically present at the time of service. If a service request is outside of the scope of the contracted device, a Pay Per Use rate of $154 (if towing needed) or up to $98 (without towing) may be charged. If at any point you wish to cancel this feature, you may do so through the My Verizon App or Verizon online.

Why should I register my vehicles in the Verizon Roadside Assistance service portal?
While you don't have to pre-register your vehicles to request help through the Roadside Assistance service request portal, we encourage you to add your vehicle's details prior to use. This will make it easier to request emergency roadside services in the future.
You can register up to 10 vehicles.
Note: Call **ROAD from your Verizon smartphone to have a link to the Roadside Assistance service request portal sent to your phone. Airtime, message and data rates may apply.
What if someone else is driving my car and needs Roadside Assistance?
Another person can receive Roadside Assistance if the enrolled device is physically present where assistance is needed. The service follows the phone, not any one individual or vehicle.
Note: The enrolled member’s name and mobile device number must also be confirmed.
When I sign up for Roadside Assistance, how soon does it start?
Your coverage becomes effective 48 hours after your enrollment in the program.
If immediate service is needed within the first 48 hours, you may be charged the Pay Per Use tow rate of $154.
How many times I can use Roadside Assistance?
There's a limit of 4 service claims within 1 year for no additional charge. Service claims reset on your enrollment anniversary date.
Commercial rates can be arranged for service after the limit has been reached or for services not covered.
How many vehicles does Roadside Assistance cover? What vehicles are eligible for Roadside Assistance?
Roadside Assistance is specific to your mobile device number, so service will be provided for any eligible vehicle you're driving or riding in, as long as the enrolled mobile device is physically present when services are given.

What do I need to have with me to use Roadside Assistance?
You'll only need the mobile device that's enrolled in Roadside Assistance with you to receive service.

Requesting Roadside Assistance Service
- Request Roadside Assistance online – Save time and immediately access the service request portal
- Call:
- #ROAD (#7623) from your enrolled phone
- 1-87-ROADSIDE from any phone
- Vehicle type (i.e., make, model and color)
- Your location (the nearest major street/crossroad, if known)
- If the cost of the service exceeds the amount covered by Roadside Assistance, you're responsible for any additional charges. Any additional cost is collected during the initial call to Verizon Roadside Customer Service (e.g., a tow claim that exceeds 5 miles will result in an additional $7.25/mile fee).
- If the customer is a Roadside Assistance subscriber, they get free 10 miles included in the subscription and charged $5 a mile overage.

Will I automatically receive a text message alert from Roadside Assistance when I call for roadside service?
No. You'll need to verbally agree (opt-in) to receive a text message alert.
Can I use Roadside Assistance on restricted roadways?
Service may be limited by local traffic rules and regulations, such as restricted roadways and toll roads. Roadside Assistance from Verizon may not be available in all areas due to such regulations and rules.
In such areas, only certain service vehicles that have been designated by local authorities are authorized to perform service. If you happen to require service in one of these areas, the Verizon Roadside Assistance Customer Service Representative will assist you with your options.
The Roadside Assistance program can’t ensure safety. If there are safety concerns, you should call 911 first.
Can I get roadside services on my own, even if I have Roadside Assistance?
Yes, prior to securing your own roadside services, contact Verizon Roadside Assistance for pre-approval. You may be reimbursed up to $80.
How do I get reimbursed for roadside services if I have Roadside Assistance?
To receive reimbursement, simply submit the original receipt from the service provider, along with your name, address, authorization number and mobile number to the address below. Claims must be postmarked within 60 days of the date of service.
