There are many reasons why you may need to suspend your service. You may be going out of town for an extended time, remodeling your home, or spending time at your summer home. If you’re not going to use your services for an extended period, it may be worth it to put your service on Vacation Suspend. It can help you save money and allows you to keep your telephone number.

Details:

Your service can be suspended between 30 days to 9 months. You need to have the service for 90 days prior to it being suspended, and you must have at least 3 months of active service in any calendar year.

Note: You will continue to be billed monthly for some services, as well as any applicable taxes or surcharges during your suspension.

This service may not be available in all areas.

To suspend your service, please sign in to My Verizon, or use the My Fios app. There is a one-time charge to initiate a vacation suspend.

  • Yes, there is a one-time charge for this service.

  • Can I change the restore service date I initially selected?

  • Yes, if the new date is not greater than 9 months.

  • Does the amount of time of suspension count toward my contract period?

  • The duration of your suspension will not count towards your bundle-term commitment. For example, if you have a two-year agreement, and you suspend your service for 9 months, the 9 months does not count toward the two-year period.

  • Can I suspend my phone service if it’s connected to my alarm system?

  • You can suspend service; however, you will lose the dial tone and connection to your alarm company while your account is suspended.

  • What if I didn’t select a date to restore service?

  • If you didn't select a date to restore your service it will be automatically restored 9 months from the start of suspension date.

  • Do I need to continue paying the bill while service is suspended?

  • Yes, monthly billing will continue for certain charges and taxes.

  • Can I make changes to my account during my service suspension?

  • The only change you can make on a suspended account is to change the restore service date.
