You can start a PopData session in the My Verizon app. Learn how to Purchase a PopData Session.

Note: If you don't see a PopData option, your device may not be eligible.

Yes. The network needs to know your location to know if a session is available in that area.

There's a time limit because availability depends on the amount of network traffic when you select either a 30 or 60-minute session.

Just like buying event tickets, you have a limited amount of time to accept the tickets, or the opportunity to buy the tickets expires.

It's to let you know when your session is over, so you know when you'll be using your plan data again.

You'll receive a series of informational notifications on the My Verizon app. We'll let you know:

• When your PopData session starts
• What time it will end
• When there's 5 minutes left in your PopData session
• When it's over

You may see an option to purchase another session at the end of your current one, if one is available.

PopData sessions are purchased and used by individual mobile numbers, but are billed to that line's account. To use PopData:

• You must have the My Verizon app and meet the other PopData eligibility requirements.
• Your account must be eligible for bill to account, including all normal checks for eligibility. See bill to account eligibility requirements.
• Each user must be authorized to bill purchases to the account. The Account Owner will receive a notification text and email regarding the purchase.

Yes. We offer a free service block feature in My Verizon that you can set up for each mobile device on your account. It can limit the device's messaging, data capabilities and block different types of purchases like ringtones, in-app purchases and more.

Your PopData connection lasts for the length of your session, either 30 or 60 minutes.

The timer runs for the purchased amount of contiguous minutes from the start of the session. It's not affected (delayed, paused or otherwise) by any activity or network connectivity.

Since PopData doesn't use your plan data, it's not included in any data usage tools, such as #DATA.

Before you can start a session, we'll analyze network activity, strength and expected capacity for the next 30 minutes at the location where you make the request.

This doesn't guarantee that something unexpected won't occur, like moving to an area with poorer service or more network congestion.
