Managing a multiple-line wireless account may not be desirable or manageable for one person to do. Luckily, Verizon Wireless lets you authorize other people to help, whether it’s managing your account online, making a customer service call or talking to a Verizon representative in store.
There are three roles associated with Verizon Wireless account management: Account Owner, Account Manager and Account Member. Like the ’80s film character the Highlander, there can be only one Account Owner, who has certain exclusive authorizations—the ability to view billing details, upgrade phones, change calling plans, add new lines of service, manage friends and family, and operate parental controls.
The Account Owner can assign up to three Account Managers to assist in handling the wireless account. As the right-hand men (and women) to the Account Owner, Account Managers can do pretty much anything the owner can with the exception of adding, changing or deleting the billing password or removing other Account Managers. You don’t even need a phone line on the account to be a manager. Just go to www.verizonwireless.com/accountmanagers.
Third in command are Account Members. Account Members aren’t responsible for making sure the bill is paid, but they can make payments toward the overall account balance, and they’re allowed to check their usage of voice, text, and data. All users on an account (besides the owner) are automatically designated as members until the owner makes them managers.
Account Owners and Managers can also set service blocks to control spending and restrict content.
