Verizon’s latest Droid smartphones—Droid Turbo 2 by Motorola and Droid Maxx 2 by Motorola—feature an innovative camera design. You can open the app as fast as you can pull out the phone. Simply twist your wrist twice, and the camera opens. That’s it. No buttons. No sifting through apps. No accidentally changing camera settings to video when you’re trying to take a pic. Just twist your wrist twice, phone in hand. Tap. And you caught the shot!
Want to know more? Here are the highlights.
Give it a twist
Twist your wrist twice, and the Droid camera automatically launches, because it knows you’re ready to freeze a moment in time. The entire screen is both a viewfinder and a shutter—no icons or pop-up settings to obstruct the view.
Snap a shot
Usually you have to find the camera shutter before you can snap. On the latest Droids, just tap anywhere and click. Want to take multiple shots? Hold your finger down and the Droids take a burst shot for as long as you press the screen.
Zooming has never been easier than on the newest Droid camera. One swipe up zooms the camera in, and one swipe down zooms the camera back out. Want to check your shot? Swipe to the left, and your gallery pops up. Simplicity and functionality are key when it comes to smartphone cameras, and the latest Droids deliver on both fronts.
Change your settings
With a single swipe of the finger to the right, you have the power to change your smartphone camera settings. A dial shows up on the left side of the screen where you can turn off the flash, switch to slow motion video, change to a panoramic setting and more. You’ll be able to easily prep your camera to capture the perfect pic, no matter the circumstances.
Zap it
Exclusive to the latest Droid phones is Droid Zap, which will help you share your photos and videos with friends, family and coworkers via a temporary geo-tagged cloud. Anyone within 100 yards or so who has the Droid Zap app can receive the pics or videos. (But if you don’t want to share your pictures with strangers, simply change your settings to make the transmission private. You’ll get a PIN code to share verbally or via email or text with your chosen recipients.)
How does Droid Zap work? From the gallery, pick your photo or video, swipe up with two fingers, and send the image file to the temporary cloud. The shots will stay in the cloud for five minutes—accessible to your personal pals or the public. Only new Droid phones can send Droid Zaps, but your friends with phones running Android 2.2 or higher can receive your zapped pictures and videos with the Droid Zap app.
Get out there and grab your Droid—with the latest smartphone camera technology—and start snappin’!
