EBB Program Overview

About the Emergency Broadband Benefit

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program was created by Congress and implemented by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide eligible households discounted internet services during the Covid-19 pandemic. The EBB will help eligible households connect to jobs, healthcare, and virtual classrooms.

The goal of this program is to ensure that internet service is affordable for everyone. However, usage is required, and only customers who use their internet service are eligible to continue receiving the discount. If you reach 30 days without any internet usage, you may no longer be qualified to receive the discount and the prior discount may be reversed on your next month’s bill.

The EBB discount is temporary, and the end-date will be announced by the FCC. At the end of the program, you will be charged the undiscounted rate if you continue to receive the service, which will be subject to our general terms and conditions. You may transfer this EBB program discount to another provider at any time.

Verizon recognizes the importance of internet connectivity and is pleased to make the EBB discount available to our eligible customers.

The program is temporary. It does not have a set expiration, but will end once the program runs out of funding, or six months after the COVID-19 pandemic ends, whichever occurs first. The FCC is expected to notify carriers and the public at least 60 days before the final service month of EBB discounts.

At the end of the program, you will either continue on your plan at the price without the EBB discount or you will end your internet-related services with Verizon. We will give you an opportunity to decide this at the beginning of your enrollment into the EBB program and again before the end of the program.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not affirmatively choose to keep your Internet-related services, the FCC requires that we disconnect those services at the end of the EBB program.
