With Verizon Prepaid, you pay ahead for the service you want each month. Choose from prepaid plans for mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, hotspots and routers. There's no credit check, no deposit, no annual contract. Our current Prepaid plans let you:

• Save with Auto Pay.

All Verizon Prepaid phone plans include:

• Verizon's award-winning 4G LTE/5G.
• Unlimited Talk & Text in the US.
• Talk, text and data to and from Mexico & Canada.
• Unlimited Text to over 200 countries and territories.
• Up to 25 GB of premium Mobile Hotspot on Unlimited plans.
• Access to optional features.* Some at no added cost and others by subscription.

Good to know: Prepaid phone plans with a monthly cost of $45 and higher that aren’t enrolled in Auto Pay are eligible for a loyalty discount of $5/month after 3 months, or $10/month after 9 months.

Important: You must have a capable device to use Mobile Hotspot. All data used by devices connected to your Mobile Hotspot counts toward the high-speed data allowance of your prepaid plan.

Your Verizon Prepaid service includes:

• Voicemail*
• Caller ID and Caller ID Blocking
• Call Waiting
• Call Forwarding
• 3-Way Calling
• Free Visual Voicemail for iPhone®
• Wi-Fi Calling

*Voicemail may not be available in some areas. Voice mailboxes not set up within 60 days will be canceled. For non-unlimited plans, airtime and other charges may be incurred when using voicemail from your mobile phone. Mobile to Mobile Calling minutes don't apply to voicemail retrievals, and you'll be charged to maintain your connection to voicemail. Verizon is not responsible for missed messages or deletions of saved messages from your voice mailbox.

You can use your prepaid service domestically and internationally.

If you use your prepaid phone on a call outside of the prepaid coverage area, keep in mind:

• Data is not available while roaming domestically.
• Depending on your phone, you may see the word "Extended" or "Roaming" at the top of your device, when the device is roaming domestically.
• Some phones don’t support showing "Extended" or "Roaming".
• Refer to our coverage maps for more information.

If you use your prepaid phone outside of the US:

• You can add Prepaid TravelPass, which lets you use your plan’s talk, text and data* in 140+ countries and destinations.
• Calling within the country you're visiting and back to the US are both included.
• $6/day in Mexico and Canada.
  • Calling, texting and data use in Mexico and Canada are included at no extra cost when you have our 15 GB, Unlimited or Unlimited Plus Verizon Prepaid mobile phone plans.
• $12/day in other TravelPass countries.

After the included 5 GB/day high speed data allowance, you get unlimited data at 3G speeds for the remainder of your TravelPass session. You may receive a text offering the option to buy additional International high-speed data when you reach your limit.

Yes, you get 5G access with our current Prepaid plans*.

5G Ultra Wideband* is only included with these Prepaid plans:

• Unlimited Plus smartphone plan
• 100 GB Hotspot and Router Plan
• 150 GB Prepaid Hotspot and Router Plan

Note: Talk & Text plan is limited to 2G data speeds only.

*5G Ultra Wideband access requires a 5G-capable device inside the 5G Ultra Wideband Coverage Area. Includes 4K UHD streaming on capable devices.

You can choose from 4 Prepaid plans for hotspots and routers*. All of these plans include 5G / 4G LTE. Save $30/month on each additional hotspot or router you add to your account:

No. If you have a 5G-capable device and you're in a 5G coverage area, upgrade to a current Verizon Prepaid plan to get 5G speeds.

How much data you need depends on what you do with your device. Here are some examples (not your actual usage):

Good to know: Data usage for mobile hotspot devices depends on how many devices are connected to it and what they're doing. Usage could be 30 GBs or more if 3 devices are streaming music or video.

If you’re on a prepaid hotspot or router plan that includes 5G Ultra Wideband, data speeds are reduced to 3 Mbps if you use all of your high-speed data allotment. If you exhaust your high-speed data on a plan that includes 5G / 4G LTE, your data is slowed to 600 Kbps.*

• You can't buy more high-speed data on a prepaid hotspot or router plan.
• You can change your plan to one that includes more data.

The effect on your apps depends on how much data the apps use. Video and audio streaming may be impacted. Calls and texts won't be affected.

*Your data experience will be impacted, but you won't experience any reduction in speed while using Wi-Fi.

We offer different types of discounts for select prepaid plans:

• Loyalty Discount or Auto Pay discounts are available for eligible mobile phone plans.
• Multi-line discount - discounts available for phones, hotspot and router plans when you add eligible types of devices as lines to your account.
  
• Bundle discount - discount available for tablet plans.

Important: If you’re on an older Prepaid phone plan, you may have to change to a current Prepaid plan to qualify for discounts.

Here’s how the prepaid Auto Pay discount works for select prepaid plans:

• Auto Pay discount of up $10/month on plans $45 & higher after the 1st month.
  • $5/month discount on the $35 Talk & Text plan after the 1st month.
• Credit or debit card required.
• Additional loyalty discounts don't apply.

The Verizon Prepaid  loyalty discount is automatically available for select prepaid plans priced at $45/month or higher:

• Renew your plan 3 times – Save $5/month (starting the 4th month).
• Renew your plan 9 times – Get an additional $5/month discount for savings of $10/month (starting the 10th month).
• Discount applies as long as your line is not disconnected.
• You may be able to keep your loyalty discount if you reactivate your account after it is temporarily suspended for a missed payment.
• Additional Auto Pay discounts do not apply.

Loyalty Discounts aren't available for the following plans:

• Prepaid plans priced below $45/month.
• Some older prepaid plans.
• Prepaid tablet, hotspot and router plans.
  
• Prepaid connected smartwatch plans.

Good to know: With our current Prepaid plans, you can't combine Auto Pay discounts and Loyalty discounts.

Even if your old plan didn't qualify for a Loyalty Discount, we count those months of service toward a Loyalty Discount for your new plan.

When you switch to a new plan, you won't get the old plan's discounts or promotions. With our current plans, Auto Pay and Loyalty discounts can't be combined.

Your multiline discount varies depending on the types of devices and how many lines you have:

Select Verizon Prepaid phone plans:

• Save $20/month per line when you add any Verizon Prepaid Unlimited phone plan to your multiline account. 
  • Your 1st line on the account can be on a phone, tablet, hotspot or router plan.
• Each additional Unlimited phone plan line receives a $20/month discount per phone on lines 2-10.

Select Verizon Prepaid Tablet Plans:

• Save $40/month per tablet line.
  • You must have at least 1 current Prepaid Phone Unlimited plan on the same account.
• Each additional tablet line receives a $40/month discount per tablet line on lines 2-10.

Select Verizon Prepaid Hotspot and Router plans:

• Save $30/month per line when you add any Verizon Prepaid Unlimited Hotspot or Router plan to your multiline account.
  • Your 1st line on the account can be on a phone, tablet or hotspot plan.
  • Each additional hotspot or router line receives a $30/month discount per hotspot or router line, on lines 2-10.

Add a device to your existing prepaid account.

How you activate a device on a new Verizon Prepaid plan depends on whether you’re activating a physical SIM card or an eSIM:

• Use our Bring Your Own Device page to activate eSIM-enabled devices on a new Verizon Prepaid account.
• To activate a SIM card on a new Verizon Prepaid account:
  1. Turn on your new phone.
  2. Select New customer.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your phone to your Verizon account.
  4. Make a call from your phone to complete the activation.

How to activate a SIM when you change devices on an existing prepaid line depends on the type of SIM:

• If you're changing to an eSIM-enabled device on an existing Verizon Prepaid line, you must speak to a Customer Service representative by calling 888-294-6804.
• If you're activating a different physical SIM card on an existing Verizon Prepaid line:
  1. Sign in to My Verizon and follow the Change Device on-screen instructions.
  2. To approve the changes:
     1. Enter the Online Authorization Code you receive on the mobile device or the email address registered to your account.
  3. Turn on your device to complete activation.

Here’s how to activate a mobile device (eSIM or SIM card) on a newly added prepaid line:

1. Use our Bring Your Own Device page.
2. Choose I'm with Verizon.
3. Follow the prompts.

Good to know: You must make a call, send a text or use data on your Prepaid phone within 60 days of adding funds to your account. If this doesn't happen, any funds you added to your account will be forfeited and your service will be disconnected.

Here's how to activate a BYOD device (eSIM or SIM card) when you switch to Verizon:

1. Use our Bring Your Own Device page.
2. Choose Join Verizon.
3. Follow the prompts.

You can also call 866-893-7723 for automated Verizon Prepaid SIM Card assistance.

Prepaid plans are available with no contract for:

Yes, as long as it's compatible with the Verizon network. You can check compatibility of your device on our Bring your own device page.

If your current device isn't compatible, you can purchase a no contract mobile hotspot or no contract tablet online.

Yes, you can change your Verizon Prepaid account to a standard monthly postpaid account or vice versa. Call Customer Service at 800-225-5499.

Mobile Hotspot* data is included in select prepaid phone plans, our current Prepaid Unlimited, Unlimited Plus, hotspot and router** plans:

• $70 Unlimited Plus - 25 GB premium Mobile Hotspot data, then unlimited lower-speed data.¹
• $60 Unlimited - 5 GB of 5G /4G LTE Mobile Hotspot data, then speeds up to 600 Kbps for the rest of the month.²
• $45, 15 GB plan - Mobile Hotspot is taken from your plan allowance. Once 15 GB of high-speed data is used, you'll have 2G speeds the remainder of the month.²
• There's no Mobile Hotspot on our $35 Talk & Text plan

Yes, you can call 411 from your prepaid phone. A live operator assists you when you request numbers, addresses and information.

Calls to 411 Search are $2.99/call. If you don't have unlimited minutes, you'll also be charged airtime. You must have a balance on your account to cover the cost of the call.

Good to know: If you don’t have a balance to cover the call, you’ll be redirected to make a payment before connecting to 411.

You can use HD Voice on your prepaid device if it's compatible with HD Voice. The HD Voice feature will automatically be turned on when you activate a compatible phone on your prepaid account.

Yes, you can use your prepaid phone to make international calls while you are in the US.

If you call other countries often, we offer:

• Global Choice - Get unlimited calls to 1 country/month and discounted rates to 220+ countries
• Select Prepaid smartphone plans that include calls to Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the US Virgin Islands
• Prepaid International Calling plans that you can add to your Prepaid plan for a set monthly fee

International networks change frequently, so certain locations may not be available at all times. Pricing is subject to change without notice. Unlimited night/weekend minutes don't apply to international calls.

Yes, you can use your prepaid phone for calling, texting and data in many international locations. For details, visit our Prepaid International Travel FAQs.

TravelPass® is available in 140+ countries and destinations and is automatically added to all lines on eligible plans. Take your plan’s unlimited talk, text and data with you when you go abroad.

Important: TravelPass isn't available for prepaid smartwatch, tablet, mobile hotspot or router plans.

Verizon Cloud isn't included, but you can add Verizon Cloud to your phone plan in My Verizon through manage add-ons.

Good to Know:

• Smartwatches bought from Verizon on a device payment agreement aren't eligible to get prepaid service.
• Prepaid accounts are limited to 10 mobile lines (including smartphones, basic phones, tablets and Mobile Hotspots) and 30 total lines (including phone lines and connected smartwatch lines).
• Apple Watch® Series 3 works with Number Share. This smartwatch isn't eligible for the Unlimited standalone plan.

*If you buy a smartwatch outright (in full) from Verizon or bring one from another retailer, you can choose a prepaid plan or a standard monthly plan for your smartwatch. If you buy a smartwatch from Verizon on a device payment agreement, you can only get a standard monthly plan for your smartwatch.
**Prepaid smartwatch plans don't qualify for Loyalty, Auto Pay, or multiline discounts.

You get 15 GB of high-speed data. If you use all 15 GB of your high-speed data, your data may be temporarily slower than other traffic during times of congestion. Reduced speeds are up to 600 Kbps when on 5G / 4G LTE for the rest of the month.

You can get your smartwatch* connected to Verizon Prepaid through the smartwatch app on your phone or at our Bring Your Own Device page.

You'll be asked to:

1. Select either the Unlimited Prepaid plan or the Number Share Prepaid plan.
2. Follow the prompts to set up service for your new smartwatch.
