Understanding Your Online Bill
(Video Length- 3:56 )
Let's take a few minutes and go through your online bill, and you'll see how easy it is to understand.
When you look over your bill, the first thing you'll see is that your current balance is front and center. This section shows, how much you owe, when your bill is due, when you paid last, and a link to "Show balance details," which breaks down your current balance. Just click on the link to show how we tallied your balance.
The balance details will show any balance carried over from the previous month, the charges for your current bill, and then any payments that you've made and any adjustments made to your account from Customer Service. All of these factor in to your current balance shown here.
The My Bill section shows charges for your bill broken down by category or by line. Your current bill is the default, but you can use the date selector to see up to 18 months of previous bills. You can also click to view or save a copy of your bill right here. The high level summary is shown. Or you can view by line by clicking Splitting the Bill.
See that red arrow next to each line? Click it to see the different types of charges, like line access charges or device payments, that each line contributed to the bill. You can also view this information by clicking View Bill Details from the Get the details section of the bill.
Whenever you're on a page that shows detailed bill information, there's a link to print the bill you're looking at. Just click the link to print a copy.
Click the link to go back to the summary page.
Under the "Get the details" section on the right, you'll see links to take a deeper dive into your bill.
The "What's Changed" section helps you understand what areas of your bill have changed from the previous month, like if you've changed your plan or added a new line. Here, you'll see what charges have gone up, or even better, gone down on your bill. The items that have changed will be noted in blue. Feel free to click the link to get more details.
From the summary page, click on the Data, talk & text activity link to see a breakdown of all texts, calls, and data for each line this billing period.
If you're on The Verizon Plan, the left-hand side of the overview page will show a summary of your total usage, your current allowance, and any carryover data, or usage over your allowance incurred during your billing period. The right-hand side of the page shows each line on the account and its specific usage. If you click the View link, you'll see the specifics of your data, call, and text details.
If you're on the Unlimited Plan, you won't see a high level summary, but can click the View link next to each line to see a break out the usage by line.
Regardless of what plan you're on, once you're in the "Activity Log" ;select data, talk, or text from the drop down menu in the top left corner to see that information. The graph represents the usage trend for the billing period you have selected. You can then choose the date you'd like to view more detailed information for below. If you have international or bonus data, talk, or text, you will see the usage for those categories in the graph.
To get an estimated breakdown of HOW your shared data was used, go back to the data, talk & text summary page and then click on the See data utilization link at the top of the page. This section gives you a high level breakdown by categories, like "Social Media, Video, or Maps & Navigation." You'll see the breakout for all of the lines on your account, or you can scroll through each line at the top of the page to see the breakdown for a specific line.
Back on the Bill Overview page, you'll see that we've also added an easy to read "Recent bill history" section that gives you a graphical view of how your current charges measure up against previous months.
We hope you like our streamlined bill.
