1. Open a Web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox.


2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the Address field of the browser.

3. Enter your user name. If you didn't change the user name during installation, enter admin in the User Name field. [Show Me]

4. Enter the password you entered during installation and click OK.

Note: If you didn't change the default password when you set up your router, it may have been changed to your router's serial number to provide greater security. You can find your router's serial number on a label affixed to the bottom or back of your router.

Note: If you can't remember your user name or password, you must reset your Verizon 9100EM router to the default settings and reconfigure your home network

You may be instructed by a Verizon technical support person to reset your modem in order to clear any existing properties. You may also have to reset your router to the factory defaults if you have forgotten your router user name or password.

Note: Resetting your router to the factory defaults not only changes your router user name and password to the factory default values, but it also deletes all your home network settings. This includes the SSID and network encryption key. After you reset your router to the factory defaults, your home network won't be accessible until you reconfigure your router and all your network devices to use the same SSID and network encryption key (WEP, WPA, or WPA2).

To reset your Verizon 9100EM or 9100VM router:

1. With the power on (Power LED on front panel should be lit green), use the pointed end of a paper clip to press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds.


2. Release the Reset button. The Verizon router will automatically reboot itself.


3. Wait 15 seconds before resuming setup.


4. Your Verizon 9100 router is now using the default settings for the network configuration. This includes the default SSID and network encryption key (WEP, WPA, or WPA2). You must re-configure your Verizon 9100 router to match the previous settings that were assigned to all the other devices on your wireless network. Otherwise, no other network devices will be recognized.
    

1. Click Change Login User Name / Password in the Quick Links section.

2. Enter a new user name in the User Name field.

3. Enter a new password in the New Password field.

4. Enter your new password again in the Retype New Password field to confirm that you entered it correctly.

5. Click Apply to save your changed user name and password.

6. Close the Verizon router configuration window.

To improve the security of your home network, you should change your home network's service set identifier (SSID) and WEP encryption key regularly.

4. Enter the password you entered during installation and click OK.
