Verizon mobile bill statement FAQs

Your mobile billing period (i.e. bill cycle):

• Starts the day you activate mobile service with Verizon.
• Has the same dates every month. (e.g., if you activate service on Nov 19, your first billing period is Nov 19 - Dec 18. The next billing period is Dec 19 - Jan 18, etc.)
  
  Note: Your monthly recurring charges stay the same regardless of the number of days in a month (e.g., recurring charges in February are the same as in March).
• Controls when your plan's monthly allowances (i.e., talk, text and data amounts) reset. They reset at 11:59 PM on the last day of each billing period.
• Each bill is labeled according to the month in which the billing period ends.

Sign in to My Verizon app or website to view your billing period, amount and payment history.

Your latest mobile bill is available on your Bill overview page in My Verizon 3 to 5 days after your billing period ends.

Sign in to your mobile Bill Overview to see your payment due date*.

• Your payment due date displays at the top of your Bill Overview page.
• To download or print a copy of your Verizon mobile bill, scroll down and click Review Bill PDF.

*To change the payment due date, you must be the Account Owner or the Account Manager.

Billing for your monthly plan is done in advance; charges for non-monthly products or services are billed after you incur them.

*In some cases, charges can't be finalized by the bill delivery date and may appear on a later bill.

If you're still getting paper bills in the mail, by changing to Auto Pay and paper-free billing you can save up to $10 a month for each of your:

• Mobile phone plan lines*
• 5G Home or LTE Home internet plan line**

Whether you get a paper bill or not, you can use the My Verizon app or website to:

• View, download and print bills.
• Securely pay your bill online.
• See usage details for each line. (Account members only see their own line usage.)
• Get text and/or email notices when it's time to pay your bill.

The Account Owner chooses how bills are delivered on the Payment settings page in My Verizon.

Note: Paper bills don't have call details but you can get those through your PDF bill in My Verizon.

**When you have a current Unlimited plan or 5G Home/LTE Home and you enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing using your bank account or Verizon Visa Card, you qualify for a $10/mo discount. Previous mobile phone plans may be eligible for an up to $5/month/line discount. Discount amount is dependent on the mobile plan version. Your discount will be applied beginning with your next bill cycle after enrollment in Auto Pay and paper-free billing.

As the Account Owner, you can change from paper bills to paper-free billing (or vice versa) anytime you want on the Payment settings page in My Verizon.

How to see your Verizon mobile bills depends on how far back you need to go:

Past 6 months: Visit your Bill overview page in My Verizon app or website. Then follow these steps.

My Verizon app:

1. Choose Account.
2. Bill & payment history. Choose a billing period from the past 18 months.
3. Choose Bill PDF to save, email or print your past bill.

My Verizon website:

1. Click on Bill & payment history.
2. Choose a billing period from the past 18 months.
3. View PDF.

Note: If you have Unlimited plans, your bill PDF shows call details but not data usage.

Beyond 18 months: Visit your Documents and Receipts page on the My Verizon website (not app).

Past 7 years: If you’re looking for older bills (up to 7 years), contact us.

Here are some ways to keep an eye on your Verizon mobile expenses:

Take advantage of Auto Pay discounts: If you have an eligible plan, you can save up to $10/month per line by using paper-free billing and Auto Pay.*

Avoid extra service charges: Third-party services your device uses (e.g., apps, ringtones, videos, etc.) can be charged to your Verizon bill. Restrict these services on your Blocks page in My Verizon.

Avoid data overage charges if you have a shared data plan:

• Turn on Safety Mode to avoid extra costs for going over your data limits.
• Monitor and restrict voice and data usage.
• Get text messages and/or emails that let you know when you've used certain percentages (e.g., 75%, 100%, etc.) of your plan allowances. Visit our Manage notification preferences in your My Verizon mobile account FAQs to learn how.

Avoid international roaming charges: When you travel overseas, add a data plan for your mobile device. Or try to avoid "pay as you go" roaming rates by turning off cellular data and roaming and using Wi-Fi. (Keep in mind some hotels, airports, etc. do charge for Wi-Fi access.)

Visit your Value Center in My Verizon to view current savings and find out if you're eligible for other ways to save.

Get familiar with your Bill page in My Verizon where you can:

• Get a bill overview
• Get a next bill estimate
• Get your payment history
• View Services & Perks
• View your documents and receipts (e.g., account change notices, bills, recent orders, etc.)

We're sorry to see you go. If you're leaving Verizon, here's what you need to know about your final Verizon bill:

• Cancellations take effect on the last day of the billing period in which you can cancel (not on the day you request cancellation.)
  • For example, let's say your billing period is Oct 19 - Nov 18. You call us Oct 20 to cancel your service. You're still responsible for paying for your service through Nov. 18. Your "Nov 18" bill won't have service charges on it for the next billing period (Nov 19 - Dec 18).
• Because we can't always process service usage right away, you may get bills with final usage charges after your service is canceled. To pay, visit our Sign in to a disconnected mobile account page, which is available up to 6 months after canceling. If it's been more than 6 months, visit the Make a one-time payment website.
• If you have a device payment agreement, your remaining balance is charged on your next bill.
• If you have a buy one, get one (BOGO) promotion, the bill credits for the "free" device are discontinued and you’re charged the remaining balance of the device payment agreement for both devices.
• If you bought your wireless device from an authorized agent or third–party vendor, check whether that third-party charges a separate termination fee.

When you cancel Verizon services in the middle of a billing period, here's how plan charges are handled:

Let's say for example that your billing period is Oct 19-Nov 18 and you cancel on Oct 20:

• You're still responsible for paying for your current billing period's plan service through Nov. 18.
• However, you already paid for your Oct 19-Nov 18 billing period on your last bill (Your "Oct 18" bill)
• So, your "Nov 18" bill won't have plan charges on it for the next billing period (Nov 19-Dec 18). It will include:
  • Any credits we owe you
  • Any extra charges you incurred during your final billing period

If you're a former customer and you have a User ID you can still sign in to My Verizon.

If you don't have or know your User ID, you can sign in to a disconnected account for 6 months after your account was canceled. You'll need the mobile number, last name and ZIP code used for the account.

If your first Verizon bill is higher than expected it may include:

• A one-time activation fee for each device you added to your account.
• 2 sets of monthly plan service charges:
  • Charges for your first billing period.
  • Charges for your upcoming billing period (since we bill for your plan 1 billing period in advance).

Your Verizon mobile bill charges can include:

• Monthly, recurring charges for the next billing period, such as:
  • Plan charges
  • Device payments due
  • Credits due (e.g., Auto Pay and other discounts)
  • Services & Perks (e.g., Verizon Cloud, Apple Music, etc.)
  • Any $10/month perks available with Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus and/or Unlimited Welcome*
  • Verizon surcharges, taxes and other governmental charges for the above.
• One-time charges and credits for the prior billing period such as:
  • Activation fee
  • Upgrade fee
  • Device payment - if you paid off your agreement early you see the payment as a credit.
  • Overage charges - if you exceeded your plan's allowance for minutes, text or data usage.
  • Charges for phone use overseas if you didn't add an international plan.
  • Credits we owe you (e.g., if you overpaid your previous bill, moved to a lower-priced plan, got a promotional discount, etc.).
  • Verizon surcharges, taxes and governmental charges for the above.

*If you have Welcome Unlimited you can also add perks to that plan. Welcome Unlimited is no longer available to add to your account.

Here are things to know about promo credits:

• It can take 2-3 billing periods for promotional credits to appear on your bill. You then get all the missing credits as a lump sum.
• Depending on the state you live in, you may be taxed on the value of a promotionally-priced service or product.

If the amount of your current bill is different than you expected, sign in to My Verizon to see what's changed.

Here are some reasons why your bill may be higher (or lower) than usual:

• Partial charges due to mobile plan changes you made in the previous billing period.
• Product and service purchases you made in a previous billing period.
• Promotional credits or discounts can take 2 or 3 billing periods to be applied to your bill.
• Taxes on promotional items – Depending on your state of residence, you may have to pay tax on products or services we give you for free.

International usage (and other non-recurring charges) are billed after you use them. They appear on your next bill.

For example, international service used during a Nov 19 - Dec 18 bill period is charged on the Dec 18 bill, due Jan 10.

Note: This is different from your recurring mobile plan charges, which are billed in advance.

If you signed up for Auto Pay without canceling direct payments from your bank account, you may see 2 payments for the same billing period in your Payment history. In that case:

• Bill Pay makes the usual scheduled payment.
• Auto Pay makes payment for any extra amount that’s due (e.g., if you had overage charges, bought a Data Boost, etc.).
