If you are unable to connect to the Internet, use the checklist below to check your hardware connections.
Make sure your D-Link router is plugged in and the Power light is lit.
Confirm that the Ethernet cable between the router and your computer is connected and the LAN light is illuminated for the port where the Ethernet cable is plugged in.
Verify that the Ethernet cable between the wall jack and your router is connected and the WAN light is lit.
Check the wiring on the outside of your home related to the Optical Network Terminal (ONT).
If you have checked each item on the checklist above and still can't connect to the Internet, please contact Verizon.
Verify that the Power LED is lit solid green. If it is not:
1. Confirm that the power adaptor is connected to the receptor on the back panel of the router.
2. Verify that the other end of the power adapter is connected into a wall outlet or power strip.
3. If the Power light is now illuminated but you still can't access the Internet, return to the D-Link wired hardware troubleshooting checklist.
4. If the Power light is not illuminated after you've double checked the connections, please contact the Verizon Fiber Solutions Center.
The LAN 1 port light on your router should be illuminated after you plug the Ethernet cable from the D-Link router to the Network Interface Card on your computer. If the LAN light is not lit solid green:
1. Check the Ethernet cable that is plugged securely into your wall outlet.
2. Confirm that the Ethernet cable is plugged securely in one of the four LAN ports.
3. Verify that the light on the front panel is illuminated for each port in which an Ethernet cable is connected.
4. If the Ethernet light is now lit for the port where your Ethernet cable is connected but you can't access the Internet, return to the D-Link Wired Hardware Troubleshooting Checklist.
5. If the Ethernet light is not lit after you've double-checked the connections, please contact the Verizon Fiber Solutions Center.
The WAN light on your router should be illuminated after you plug the Ethernet cable from the wall jack into your D-Link router. If the WAN light is not lit solid green:

3. Recheck to see if the WAN light is lit.
4. If the WAN light is now illuminated but you still can't access the Internet, return to the D-Link wired hardware troubleshooting checklist.
5. If the WAN light is not illuminated after you double-checked the connections, please contact the Verizon Fiber Solutions Center.
The next troubleshooting steps will be done at the ONT which may be attached to your home or garage. Please take the following to the ONT:
Important:
Although the lines are grounded, do not attempt to open the ONT or test the lines during rain, a thunderstorm, or other hazardous weather conditions.
If there is a loud hum on the line, do not test the ONT. Contact Verizon for assistance.
Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the screw that holds the ONT cover closed. Check the status of the Power light.
Note: The Battery Backup Unit (BBU) will shut down approximately one hour before that battery has completely drained. If you need to make an emergency phone call after the BBU has shut down, press the Battery Emergency Use button on the ONT. This should enable the ONT to reboot and provide up to one hour of talk time. After you press the Battery Emergency Use button, the BBU will operate until the battery has completely drained.
You may be instructed by a Verizon technical support person to reset your router in order to clear any existing properties. You may also have to reset your router to the factory defaults if you have forgotten your router user name or password.
To reset your D-Link router:
2. Release the Reset button. The D-Link router will automatically reboot itself.
3. Wait 15 seconds before resuming setup.
4. Your D-Link router is now using the default settings for the network configuration. This includes the default SSID and WEP encryption key. You must re-configure your D-Link routerto match the previous settings that were assigned to all the other devices on your wireless network. Otherwise, no other network devices will be recognized.
