Military and veterans discounts FAQs

All branches of the United States military are eligible for discounts, including:

• Marines
• Army
• Air Force

• Coast Guard

• All military reserves and National Guard
• Veterans of all branches
• Gold Star Families
• Cadets

After registering with our discount program, active United States military service personnel and veterans are eligible for the discounts below.

• Prepaid plans and promotional plans are not eligible for discounts through this program.
• You may also be eligible for our monthly Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount and Mobile + Home Discount.

*If you signed up for the military service discount before 8/5/19, you keep the previous discount amount. If you signed up for Go Unlimited or Beyond Unlimited before 6/18/18, you have a $15 account-level discount, no matter how many lines you have. Go Unlimited and Beyond Unlimited are no longer available to add to your account.

No. You can only take advantage of only 1 of these discounts at a time. Visit our Corporate Employee Discounts FAQs for information that can help you choose your best option.

Keep in mind:

• Active duty military and veterans get unique discounts on unlimited data plans. Standard employer (non-military) discount agreements don't give discounts on unlimited data plan fees.
• If you decide you want the other type of discount, you can switch your choice any time by re-registering on our Discounts by Verizon program page.

Note: Validating your discount doesn't extend your wireless service contract. It just ensures you get the discount currently available under your organization's agreement with us.

No. To be able to register and validate military service the person applying for the discount must be both*:

• The military member
• The Verizon wireless Account Owner or Account Manager

If the account is in the name of your family member or friend, complete a Transfer of Service before registering for the discount.

*Exception: Gold Star family members.

Yes. Spouses and next of kin can register for the discount even if the military member wasn’t the Account Owner or Account Manager.

You can use the DD Form 214 when validating eligibility for the military discount. Visit our registration how to page for details about signing up for the discount program with this form.
