Samsung Galaxy S20 5G UW - View Device Screen on TV

Here's how to share your screen or media files with another screen (TV, game console, etc.) using your Galaxy S20 5G UW.
Effective October 5, 2020, Samsung won't support Smart View.
  • If you uninstall the Smart View app from your mobile device, you won't be able to download it again; however, you can continue to use it unless you remove it.
    Smart View may not be removable on all devices.
  • Samsung SmartThings or Samsung DeX are recommended alternative screen-sharing options.
  • Smart View allows you to share the device's screen or content on a larger display via a wireless connection.
  • To view your smartphone's screen via an external display, a compatible HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter (e.g., Chromecast™ is required. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon store or at the online store.
  • For additional assistance, contact your TV manufacturer.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube™ Netflix® , etc.) support showing the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the
    Cast icon
     Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

  1. From the top of the screen, swipe down on the
    Status bar
     twice to expand the quick settings menu.

  2. Tap the
    Smart View icon
     Smart View.
    If unavailable, swipe left to view more quick settings.
  3. Select the external display device from the list.
    If unavailable, ensure your TV or external display supports screen sharing and that it's turned on.
  1. Open the
    Gallery app
    .
  2. If necessary, select the appropriate album or navigate to the image / video location.
  3. Select a picture or video to view.
  4. Tap the
    Share icon
     Share icon.
    If necessary, tap the screen to display the options.
  5. Tap
    Smart View
    .
  6. Select the desired external display from the list.
